Story Time

My Dad and I like to read books at bedtime. It's a nice way for us to catch up after his long day at work. We were going to start with the Wall Street Journal, but he said I wouldn't like it because there aren't enough pictures. Every night Mom and Dad give me a bath and cover me with baby lotion, then I cuddle up for story time before screaming to sleep. I'm working on the screaming part, but I still have trouble on some nights. Mom likes the irony of my peaceful sleepy pictures after my bedtime battles. Here is an old picture of me on the day we left the hospital. I'm bigger now (I've doubled in size!), and still love my Boppy.

Buddy

My first friend! Moxie is being sweet today while Mom does some work nearby. The dogs are warming up to me- Maggie even sniffed my head twice this week- big leap for her! I can follow them across the room with my eyes now- and I jump when they bark or shake their collars. This is my play mat- as you can see, I love it! The world is so exciting now, I am noticing more and more things every day. Dad started work this week- it's the first time I've seen him in a tie- pretty handsome guy, but that's a given because he looks like me... Mom has started the nanny/daycare search. She says it will be easier for someone to get high level security clearance at the Pentagon than to pass her standards for taking care of me. Unfortunately we can't afford to fly Mindy to our house from Austin every week...

My New Crib

Dad put my crib together this week! My room is almost complete- we just need to finish decorating and find some curtains and a rug. We'll put more pictures up when it's ready. So far, it's my favorite room in the house! Mom says my new mobile is like baby crack- I go into a happy trance when I see it. I'm 10 weeks old now, and developing quite a personality. Dad is my favorite for playing and hanging out, but he has seen my wrath when I'm hungry or tired and need my Mom. Mom found a very nice pediatrician for me this week, it was an easy visit with no shots. I am 12 and 1/2 pounds now (so proud! ). We like the doctor but the office is just okay (Mom is a snob now, nothing compares to the quality of CPPFM). The new doctor thinks it is cute when I try to find my thumb!

2 Months Old

I'm getting so big! 2 Months Old, and I am the happiest baby in the world! These days I enjoy napping, eating, and hanging out in my parents' arms. I am warming up to the idea of my swing and play mat, but I still prefer to be held. My sleep patterns are getting better- I'm taking 3 nice long naps during the day, and sleeping 6 hours at night. Mom is ecstatic, she is glad that she read all 5 of those books on healthy baby sleep patterns. Now she can move on to obsessing about infant motor and social development... Every once in a while I like to scream and cry for a couple of hours around dinner time- just keeping it fresh for Mom and Dad. I'm still a happy little piggy, eating well and showing off my cute muffin top in these pants. Here is Mom's new favorite picture of me- cuddling with my lovie and zoning out with my paci. She loves to rock me in my new rocking chair at night after my bath. She says it is a terrible habit to start, and that I will form a negative sleep association that will derail all of of our good sleep training... but she does it anyway :). Dad says my love affair with the paci is only temporary, that I am destined to find my thumb one of these days... He posted a new video of me trying to find my thumb, it's cute.

Home Sweet Home

So far, we like our new/old house. Mom's favorite parts are the swing on the front porch and the gardenia tree in the yard. Dad's favorite parts are the quirks that give the house "character" (and give him an endless supply of weekend projects).

Here I am practicing my attitude in my tennis dress. One day I'll be big enough to flip up the collar.

Beach Bod

Look at me! Look at my new chubbalicious rolls! I've been working on this body for 7 weeks, so we need to get this documented. Our beach week was awesome, and here are more pictures to prove it. I slept through most of our mini photo session in town, but woke up just in time to realize that it was way too hot outside!
My time with my Chattanooga family couldn't have been better, even Maggie and Moxie made new friends. I enjoyed the constant attention during the week, especially snuggling up for some Poppie Time. Mom said I was an angel on my best behavior. On our way to our new house we stopped to meet my Aunt Julie and cousin, Kalyn, from Boston (luckily they were in town for a week nearby). Mom and Dad laughed at how I was completely mesmerized by Kalyn- I kept staring at her for most of the visit.
