School

We started school last week. This is how I look when I get home at noon every day. It took me a few days to get used to it, but by the end of the week I was laughing and having a great time! Mom had a hard time leaving me there, because in her mind I am still the tiny little baby she took home from the hospital. We found a picture from that day- amazing how much has changed since then! Mom thinks it is funny to call it "school" because it is really just daycare, but they call themselves an "academy" and they have a curriculum, even for infants. Just for kicks, she wants me to pick a major for my first semester: Bouncy Seat-ology, PlayMat-istry, or Jumperoo-nomics. Mom said we are sticking with it for now instead of getting a nanny, she said something about having watched too many episodes of Nancy Grace. Here I am at home, making a present for Mom. It was really loud, and Mom thought it was hilarious because I was smiling and laughing at her the whole time. She called it the Hundred Year Poo, and sent this picture to Dad since I was wearing his favorite pants at the time. Maybe if poo isn't funny to you, then you should skip to the next picture. Here are some pictures of me and Dad after my bath. Some people think I look like him...

Found My Hands

I found 2 new toys attached to the ends of my arms! They are perfect for chewing and grabbing, but mostly I just like to watch them move. They usually surprise me by showing up in front of my face at random times. Controlling them is a problem, but I'm working on it. Sometimes when I get in a hurry, I will hit myself in the forehead a couple of times before getting my fist to my mouth. I don't know why Mom and Dad laugh so hard at that. We got our new rug for my bedroom. It's nice and soft, with extra padding. Mom said one day I may try to climb out of my crib, and if I fall out she wants my landing to be well cushioned. Dad and I had a good laugh yesterday- we caught Moxie sitting on the ottoman in the front room looking out the window. He knows that he isn't supposed to be on the furniture, but he just looked up at us, sighed, and put his chin back in the window. This week I laughed really hard when Moxie walked over and started licking my hands and face. Mom doesn't like the licking (so she gave me another bath), but I loved it! My dogs are the best.

Mawmaw and Aunt Joy

This week I met Mawmaw, my great grandmother. She is my Mom's favorite grandmother. Mom said she is a firecracker and that I get my sassy personality from her. She was very sweet, but she scolded Mom for dressing me in ugly clothes (clearly not a fan of Baby Gap or Gymboree). This was my first trip to Chattanooga, and it was way too short! We got to spend a couple of days with family, but Mom was sad that we couldn't see all of our friends. I was a very good girl on the flight, not like the maniac toddler 2 seats ahead of us. Mom told me not to be smug, I have a longer flight to Boston coming up next month. I also got to play with my cousin, Jakob, again- he is so funny! He is going to be a big brother soon, and I think he's going to be really good at it. Mom says he is a natural born entertainer. He offered to share his toys with me, but I'm not really into The Hulk... I'm leaning more toward stuffed monkeys these days. When we got home there was another good surprise for me: my Aunt Joy came to visit all the way from Boston! We took her to the beach on a perfect Saturday, then she got to witness one of my classic car seat meltdowns. Mom said maybe I was good birth control for Aunt Joy this weekend.

4 Months Old

Such a big girl, I'm 4 months old now! The beauty of this photo shoot is that we didn't even have to try to make my hair so beautiful, it just does this naturally. I woke up from my nap and Mom said I looked like a rock star who needed her picture taken. It's a good day, I've been working on rolling over. On my play mat yesterday, Mom heard me grunting and looked over to find me stuck on my belly, with my arm trapped underneath. It was the first time I had rolled from my back to my belly and I was really confused! She laughed for a minute before helping me over.
Tomorrow Mom and I are going to Chattanooga to meet my great grandmother- I am really excited. It will be my first time on a plane, I get to ride on Mom's lap. She said the other passengers will love my new habit of squealing. Wish me luck!
