Face Parts

Little Man will show you all of the parts of his face... if you can get him to sit still long enough:  Parts of The Face

Day With Thomas

Thomas the Tank Engine came to town!  We spent the afternoon at the Railroad Museum enjoying fun train things, and even got to ride on Thomas himself.
Dad and I practiced our funny faces for Mom behind the camera
because she cracks up at what a clone I am.
Ryan was a tougher audience.
We also got to play on a "Woo Woo",
and a Tractor,
but the highlights of the day were the temporary tattoos
and all of the rocks we could smuggle from the train track with our tiny hands.

Swim Lessons

Dad took Ryan to his first swim lesson because Mom was terrified of the part where the teacher rips them screaming from the parent's arms at the door and takes them to the pool, where they cry and freak out for 30 minutes.
At least, that's what most kids do on their first day.
Unless your name is Ryan, and you OWN that swim lesson.

Sick Week

The stomach bug spent a week at our house, taking its time to crush each of us with its miserable body aches and tummy problems.
The Mermaid Alliance came to my rescue, along with purple Gatorade and TLC from Mom and Dad.  We are glad to finally be on our way to normal again.

Circle of Life

Mom was hoping to share her Wonder of Nature speech with us this year when we found a new bird nest in our bushes.  We checked every day for eggs.  It seems that this snake found the eggs first, so we had to listen to Dad's Circle of Life speech instead.  If you click on the picture, you can zoom in on the perp.  We left a letter for the neighborhood hawk to give him a good bite to teach him a lesson.

Springtime

We survived a grand total of 4 cold winter nights, and now it's time to welcome Spring!
This means it's time to stay outside as much as possible before the weather turns to sweltering oppressive melt-your-shoes hot.
Mom says we can plant our annual patio salad bar this week. She let me pick out all of my favorite smelling herbs and flowers at Lowe's, even a baby Meyer lemon tree!
Ryan will be our junior gardener this year, if we can just stop him from bashing all the plants with his plastic baseball bat... and grabbing handfuls of dirt to throw into the air... and pulling off the pretty flowers to throw into a bucket.
Mag and Mox are excited about chasing the multiplied squirrels of springtime that invade our yard.  They just have to survive the dreaded haircut first.

Ryan at 20 Months

One word: SWAGGER.
This kid has confidence, charm, and wit in spades. He knows that those giant eyes and quick smile have power, and he knows how to use them.
He loves any type of "dippit", especially ketchup:  Ketchup Yum

Storyteller

Ever since Dr. Seuss week at school, I have loved making up my own rhymes:

Trouble

Much to Dad's dismay, I had an admirer at lunch today.  A little boy in his baseball uniform nervously walked up and asked if he could take my picture with his cell phone.  I smiled beautifully as if this happens every day while my parents and his parents were quietly giggling nearby.  Looks like I'll be going to an all girls elementary school now.

Gymnastics

This winter we started gymnastics because I need to nurture my natural skills of jumping and swinging from monkey bars.
It's lots of fun- we get to practice balance beaming,
and learn to do awesome things like cartwheels and handstands.
Mostly I love wearing my leotard all weekend, and practicing jazz-hand-pointy-toe poses!
