Mom and Dad's favorite day was our walk through Charleston. They were married here almost 12 years ago!
This was the hotel downtown where everybody stayed, and the courtyard where they took pictures.
We walked all the way down to Battery Park, where they said their vows in the gazebo.
Rumor has it that this whole park is on top of an old pirate graveyard. Kind of makes the elegant old trees feel haunted.
Here we tried to recreate their favorite picture from the wedding.
This is where the Civil War began. Feels like walking through history.
This is the point in the day where Ryan turned to the dark side.
Vacations are still tricky at his age.
But he was a great sport walking miles and miles through town like a big kid.
The horse drawn carriages were cool, and Rainbow Row.
We took another day trip to Boone Hall Plantation, basically an afternoon of history.
The marshes and giant old oaks were amazing.
Mom got excited about the garden with the giant old camellia trees. We just planted two tiny camellias in our yard, maybe they will look like this in 100 years.
The slave cabins were preserved as incredible museums. We aren't quite old enough to understand the history, but it was a good start.
We can't get enough of these old trees.
And the She Crab Soup.
And angry notes from Ryan.
