Colorado

Our first family vacation out west was a blast, and now we are hooked!
We tagged along with Dad on his work trip conference at the historic haunted Stanley Hotel, and it went so well that Mom wants to go to all of Dad's trips now.
The Rocky Mountain National Park mountains were in the background. Big mountains. Bigger and more interesting than Florida swampland and phosphate mining mounds. No offense.
And there was no humidity. So when people complained that it was sooooo hot, it wasn't. No offense.
We went fishing in a trout pond, with wiggly worms as bait.
Kelsey caught a 20 inch monster on her first cast! It was ridiculous! Everyone came running because no one could believe it.
Catching the trout was fun,
but watching the guys hit them in the head with a stick was more fun.
We got to watch the guys clean the fish, and they even gave us the still-beating hearts.
Our first hike was beautiful.
We liked it so much that we drove into the park the next day and hiked again.
The chipmunks were our favorite.
On our last day, we took an off road tour to another part of the park.
It was super cool, until the guide told us to watch out for an aggressive mother moose that he had seen last time.
Exploring the town was fun, too.
We already loved rocks, so this was like rock paradise. We "used our intuition" and "let our bodies pick the right rock".
And loved building cairns.
The 2 hour time difference was tricky.
Our first horseback ride was terrifying and amazing. The lead horse got really anxious at the end, because there was a big bobcat in the bushes!
It was a great trip!

Summer 2017

We've hit another milestone: the Summer Camp Ages. This was the first year Mom had to schedule summer camps for us. It was a big deal, involving shared Excel Spreadsheets from other veteran area Type A Moms, and covering both Mom and Dad's work schedules. And, it had to be locked in by the end of March.
It was the best summer of our lives! We had playdates with friends and tried new sports.
And we spent a few weeks at our new school, making new friends, meeting teachers, and getting comfortable with the campus.
It was awesome!
Kelsey did a cupcake baking camp, which of course was everyone's favorite.
We got to visit rival schools,
and got an occasional injury.
But, really, this was the summer of SLIME and LEGOS.
The Camp Dad weekends were pretty awesome. We don't mind when Mom is working.
And, of course, we squeezed in some pampering time.
And a Staycation.
But the highlight of Summer 2017 was seeing the Joel Osteen doppelganger at lunch restaurants FOUR different times.
FOUR times. We couldn't stop laughing.
This is definitely the Honeymoon Phase- we're at ages that are fun and (finally) easier. Our parents are soaking up every moment, because they know teenage hormones are coming.

Happy 6th Birthday Ryan!

Our happy boy is looking so old these days! And more like Dad every second.
He's doing big boy stuff, like fishing,
growing (almost) tall enough to ride the YMCA pool slide.
He is the friendliest, most excited, most loving, biggest personality we've ever met.
Mostly, he just wants to be with one of us at all times.
He loves playing sports, especially when he wins trophies.
And Legos. Lots of Legos.
And pet baby lizards.
We love him!

Belated Happy Father's Day

This guy. We like him alot.
