Spring Little League

Springtime means Spring Training, and our first experience with spring little league!
Everyone told us that the spring season is more "intense" than fall ball. We laughed, thinking, these are 5-9 year olds, right? We just wanted to learn the game, be valuable teammates, and build character through good sportsmanship.
Our precious, naïve parents had no idea. This was a season of passionate coaches who wanted to WIN, devoted parents who lived at the fields 6 nights a week and LIKED IT. This was not The Sand Lot, this was World Series All Star Competition.
So, yes, we got all of our teachable moments, and then some.
We loved Dad's weekend batting practice,
found our favorite position behind the plate,
learned how to take the most constructive parts from a coaching pep talk,
and loved being part of a team.
We learned what it means to hit a pop up that gets caught by the second baseman,
and how Dad reacts from the stands.
The best part, by far, is earning the game ball.
It's a great group of kids,
and great group of parents.

Apartment Living

We got to live in a furnished apartment temporarily while waiting for our new house to finish. It was a fun adventure, lots of cute raccoons in the neighborhood.
We got to share a room, which was tricky at night because one of us falls asleep immediately, the other one likes to slam his toys into the wall and act out car crashes for an hour after bedtime. Mom said it definitely brought us closer.
The coolest part was being so close to the Air Force base for the weekend of the Thunderbird show. They were right over our head! That's Maverick in the top left corner of the picture.
The two pools and hot tub were great, too. Felt like vacation.
We were counting the days until our house would be ready!

Goodbye Old House

We said goodbye to our first house this spring. Our lives have been too busy for the past 6 months for me to write something meaningful and nostalgic, like: this is the house that made us a family, where we brought our newborn babies home, and where we said goodbye to our furry babies. No time for that, just wanted to get these gorgeous professional pictures taken by our realtor up on the blog.
