Maggie Turns 7
My sweet Maggie is 49 years old today (that's 7 in human years). This has probably been her toughest year, considering the fact that she had a "stress-induced" seizure a few weeks after the arrival of a new baby and move across the country. Here is a look back at my good girl and how she has been my gentle friend. At first all I remember is a flash of her cold wet nose when she would sneak up to sniff me. She was afraid of me for a while- Mom said it's in her nature to be a Nervous Nellie.I let her fix my hair on some days- she prefers the wet, messy look. I think she likes the way my shampoo tastes. This picture is from the first time that Maggie sat next to me and stayed longer than 20 seconds. We had a nice time- she licked my hand and stretched out next to me on the floor. Mom said that Maggie is my protector, my "big sister". Maggie is the one who scared away the burglar for Mom in North Carolina. She also went Cujo on a dirtball man who jokingly lunged at Mom when she was pregnant in Texas. Maggie didn't think he was funny, so she tried to bite his face off. We love our sweet girl, and hope that the next 7 years are as memorable as the last.
