Drywood termites are just a fact of life around here, you either have them in your house, or you will have them. Once the colony in your walls is big enough to swarm, then it's time to get "tented"(usually every 7 years). You have to take out your crib mattress and double wrap all of the food in special bags. Then you leave for 3 days. The first day, they cover your house with huge circus tents and pump toxic gas inside. On the second day, they air it out. Then you get to come home on the third day and watch your Mom nervously smell everything in your bedroom to make sure there is no hint of DEADLY POISON left in your clothes or dolls. It's not freaky at all.Mom called it our Family Adventure Weekend because we got to stay at a hotel. My favorite part was making the comfy pallet next to Mom and Dad's bed. We did lots of fun things, like reading books... Twirling in the chair... and running up and down the hallways in our pajamas. We went swimming, too, but Mom didn't take the camera. It was my first time in a pool this year and it was awesome! She said the pictures would have been great- two blinding white objects in the water- me and my Dad! I was happy to get home and see my favorite toys again. First thing I did was line them up on the stairs and tell them all about our adventure.

Whoa. We don't envy that process. I can see why your Mom smells everything...
Glad everything survived!
We came the wrong weekend! Looks like a blast :)
