Happiest Prisoner On The Block

It's baby-proofing time! When Mom and Dad bought this safety gate, it seemed like a good idea... But, after Dad put it together as a "play pen", they realized it was more of a cage. At first they put me in there and kept laughing hysterically, calling me "The Prisoner". I didn't understand the joke, but I was laughing with them. Whatever- this is totally fun getting to stand up and take a couple of steps! It's just like the zoo, except I'm on the inside and the animals are on the outside! Now we just use it as a straight gate to block the wide doorway and keep me in the safe room.

Pulling To Stand

Look at me!! Yesterday I learned how to pull myself up to a standing position. It happened so fast! I was helping Mom put up laundry when I found a pair of socks just out of reach... so it made perfect sense for me to stand up. At first my legs were shaking like jello, but after a full day of practice I was an old pro.
It is a whole new world! Now I can crawl into the funniest corners, and pull up to see everything that Mom and Dad have been hiding on table tops and shelves. My second favorite new discovery is the mirror- I am SO cute!

Around The House

Here are pictures from my recent visit with Aunt Doe. We had such a good time! She was amazed at how much I had changed since her last trip.
I am on the move now, crawling everywhere. That means I can stalk our dogs... Moxie lets me crawl on him and grab his face, and Maggie thinks that I am her new door opener. Here I am with my new favorite toys- our DVD collection. I love to pull each one out of the basket, chew on it, and then throw it aside. Mom and Dad don't mind, they use these to distract me until they come up with a plan to hide the cable box and wires.

The Zoo

Today we took a family trip to the zoo, and it was AWESOME! My favorites were the goats and penguins. Recently I've taken an interest in our dogs and the neighbor's cat, so Mom and Dad thought that I would like the zoo. They were right, I LOVED it! Mom's favorite was the baby orangutan playing with her Mommy. Dad's favorite was the funny chimp who put on a good show for us. Mom took lots of pictures (shocker), and said this one was her favorite: me and Dad squinting together.I managed to squeeze in a little nap after all the fun.
We finished the day with dinner on the patio and drinks in our sippy cups at sunset. It was a perfect day.

He likes to sleep on our porch chair at night, even though Dad, Maggie, and Moxie send negative thoughts to him at every opportunity. We played dress-up for my photo shoot. The props lasted long enough for a few pictures. Mom underestimated the pervasive nature of glitter, so I probably won't get to play with these toys anymore. Next we are going to a friend's house to play with other babies!

Day With Dad

I am starting to think that my parents adore me. Mom entertains me during the week and Dad takes me on play dates while she works on the weekends. My life couldn't be more perfect! He is teaching me advanced things, like talking on the phone and texting. I wanted to send Nana a picture of my belly button, but he said nice girls don't do "sexting".Last weekend was especially fun. He picked out my clothes himself. Mom was laughing really hard, but he said "there is pink in the shirt and pink in the pants, so they match, right?!". We went outside to read our books and talk about life. It was a great day!Dad said he wants to spend as much time as possible with me now, before I turn into a teenager that hates him. Fine with me- I think he's pretty awesome!

10 Months Old

I am a happy girl! My new hobbies include crawling...Picking up tiny objects to examine and/or put in my mouth...Serenading my toys when I get excited...And, throwing hissy fits when I don't get what I want!

The Hair

Mom has been having a great time with my hair lately. This is my Saturday Morning Bed Head. Mom's favorite: Get It Out Of Your Eyes Barrette. The Curly Wet Look. The Helmet. Courtesy of my cowlicks when we try to part it on the opposite side. And, finally, my Signature Pink Bow! Too bad my new favorite skill is to grab my bows and barrettes and claw them out of my hair for chewing!
