Perfect Wedding Day

On Joy and Mike's Big Day, everything was perfect! The sun was shining, the wedding party was on time, and somebody finally helped Papa secure his complicated tuxedo pants.
I had fun soaking up all the excitement in the air, and realizing that I was about to be part of something very special. When I first saw Joy in her beautiful white dress, I asked, "Are you an angel?". She looked so pretty!
Everyone said I looked pretty in my princess dress, too. But, we were all blown away by elegant Nana. Mom said she was a smart Mother of The Bride to bring the value size box of Kleenex!
As a Flower Girl, I was dedicated to the role, twirling in my fluffy dress at every opportunity. It was a big deal for us to hold our flowers, keep our shoes on, and leave our headbands in place. We handled the responsibility with grace and flair.
When the Bride arrived at the church, it was like a movie, watching her walk up the steps with Papa.
Dad was so proud of his baby sister! Mom was already starting to get emotional when she took this picture...then she lost it when it was time to watch Dad walk Nana down the aisle,
followed by her favorite Flower Girl walking with a gorgeous Kalyn!
The ceremony was perfect, and nobody fainted or tripped. Although, not all of the Flower Girls made it back down the aisle with their shoes on. Then, it was off to the reception! It was held at this incredible historic estate with the softest grass and most perfect hill for rolling down in a formal dress. Mom let me roll down the hill sideways, often falling flat on my face, then jumping up to laugh and do it again.
The party was great, because I got to hang out with Angel Joy and my new Uncle Big Mike.
The dinner was fun for my parents, because Mike made hilarious faces during the Best Man's speech! Plus, the food was amazing- Dad is still talking about the butternut squash ravioli. I personally ate a loaf of yummy bread with about 1 pound of butter.
Then it was time for the dance party! To say that we rocked it would be an understatement.
The grown-ups enjoyed a sweet moment when the bride and groom danced,
which gave me a chance to get snuggly with my sweet Dad. Mom hopes that this picture will show up again one day at my wedding, when I look like an angel in a white dress and dance with my Dad.
The rest of the night was crazy fun. I was up past 8pm on the dance floor! One of Mom's favorite parts of the night was catching up with Dad's hilarious cousins. They told the funniest stories about their parents, Aunt Fran and Uncle Ed. They tried to talk Dad into moving back up to Boston, but he says we are still traumatized by the Christmas Blizzard of 2010.
One thing is certain after this weekend: I love my Boston family! I can't wait to see them again and hopefully introduce them to my baby brother when he arrives.
By the end of the night I was completely exhausted. Dad was trying to get all 30 pounds of me to the car when he got stopped by a series of relatives wanting to chat for another hour. Mom thought it would be funny to take a picture of the huge beads of sweat rolling down his forehead (she knew she wouldn't have to hold me because she had my 34 week old brother in her belly, and she could cry "back pain!"). Poor Dad. But, it is a cute picture.
