Cape Town

September 2019: First morning, woke up to this view from the hotel. It is gorgeous without even trying.
To be fair, this was a work trip for Dad. They got to meet and spend time with around 100 other people on the trip. But the only pictures here are going to look like a Bucket List second honeymoon.
First day was spent touring the southernmost point of Africa,
where they were told to please avoid the wild ostriches, they will eviscerate you with their feet.
If you are chased by one, lay belly-down on the ground.
Also, the baboons.
There was a picnic and surprise crazy boat ride.
Finished with the Penguin Beach. It was the South African school holiday weekend similar to our Memorial Day, so lots of people.

And lots of cute penguins.
Dinner was an authentic African drum theater show with awesome spicy food.
The second day was an attempt to hike Table Mountain, the centerpiece of Cape Town.
At the top of the mountain, they found a human traffic jam, a bus traffic jam, and an hours-long wait in the 90 degree sun.
So, a group decided to admire the beautiful view, respectfully skip the hike, and Uber back to the hotel.
Gala night was gorgeous, after a winery tour, complete with lavender fields.
Yes, the Pinotage signature South African wine is amazing.
But not as amazing as the beautiful cellist in a bubble.
Look at these two. Older and wiser. This trip counts as their 14 year Wedding Anniversary.
